Good Morning,
Before the card buffet starts today I wanted to put my July and August schedules out for you.  These next two months are going to be busy!

Classes:
July 9 - 11:00 - 2:00
July 12  - 2:00 - 5:00

Hostess gathering July 19th - 2:00
July orders must be to me by the 19th, so I can get it in before I leave for the SU convention on the 21st!!  This will be the last month for the 12 month group, before we start up again in August. Depending on how many remain will determine whether it is 12 months or just 6 months. More information later :-)

I will be getting home from the convention on the 27th and leaving on the 30th for Kansas City, MO to spend some time with my younger daughter Amy. I will be returning around the 10th of August and getting ready for a retreat at Hide Away Hill the 14 - 16th.  My next card classes will be:

August 20 - 11:00
August 22 - 10:00

As you can see I'm going to be do some traveling these next two months and next card buffet is not going to be until September :-)

Enjoying this day of not having any rain!  Brett and I started to straighten out the room he wants to make into his "man-cave" today.  He said he needs a place to go when I am having gals over for card classes. :-)  So, we worked for about 3 hours today getting started!  A lot of shredding took place!!

Now for the card today.  It also comes from the Spring/Mother's Day class. The stamp set used was from the Occasions catalog called Mother's Love.   It uses Whisper White as the base card, then Melon Mambo DSP dots for the next layer.  Crushed Curry and Whisper White for the remaining layers.   The flowers were stamped using Memento Tuxcedo Black ink, and then coloring them in using Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Coastal Cabana, and Garden Green Stampin' Write Markers.

The flower was made with a stamp from Petite Petals and Melon Mambo ink. Then punched using the Petite Petal punch and using a stampin' dimensional to adhere it to the card.

The sentiment also comes from the stamp set Mother's Love, and was stamped in Coastal Cabana ink.

Hope you enjoy!

Hugs,
Penny

The rain is finally stopping :-) Just taking it easy today.

Today's card was made using the Basic Butterfly stamp set and framelets that go with it. I chose Night of Navy and Wisteria Wonder as the main colors.
Stamped the background images using Wisteria Wonder and Night of Navy inks.  Then stamped the flower image in Memento Tuxcedo Black Ink, then colored it in using Wisteria Wonder and Wild  Wasabi stampin' markers.  Then I fussy cut it out and used stampin' dimensionals to adhere it to the card.
Using Night of Navy for the background wire design and letter postmark. Also stamped the butterflies in Night of Navy and then used the Butterfly framelet and Itty Bitty Butterfly punch.  Completed it using Wisteria Wonder ribbon and sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and used the Word Window punch to punch it out with. I adhered it to the card with stampin' dimensionals.

I have an order code on my SU site where you can place an order for any of the items you see here on my blog for the month of June. It is YDFT99AE

HI All,
Sorry I didn't post yesterday, but it was a very hectic day!   I'm starting today to post a card from the ones we made at the April card class.
It is made using the Honeycomb thinlet, Flower Shop stamp set and Petite Petals stamps.  Once the flowers were stamped they were punched out using the Pansy punch and Petite Petals punch.
were Bermuda Bay and Wild Wasabi.  Whisper White and Bermuda Bay cardstock was used. I found the idea on Pinterest on Debby's Designs, but I changed the colors and added a butterfly to it.
Tomorrow I will post another card from this class.
This group of cards will be added to the next card buffet June 25th and the 27th.

Enjoy,
Hugs,
Penny

Two posts in one day1  Just wanted to share my good news :-)

A GREAT day!! Went shopping with Jennifer and she helped me pick out my dress for SLC when I'm am honored at the Stampin Up convention as a "Rising Star!" Let's just say I'm going to "Sparkle" on stage :-)

I've also got my Roaring 20's flapper dress arriving on Monday for the theme this year! Getting all set and ready to go to the convention and have a GREAT time!!

When I got home, had my official letter from Sara Douglas, interim CEO for SU congratulating me on becoming a "Rising Star" and to leave Oct. 25 - 28th open, as that is when I, along with the other "Rising Stars" will be going to SU home office :-) Back doing my "Happy Dance" today! Thank you again to all who helped me earn this honor :-)

  Hugs to all!!
While sitting here working on this I'm looking out the window at all the traffic!  We are having a community garage sale today and tomorrow!! YIKES!!  Luckily I'm not having a class today, and tomorrow when they come for the class in the afternoon the  traffic will have died way down :-)
Yesterday's class went well and I received a lot of "Oh's and Ah's " when they saw what they would be making :-)  Got my SU order yesterday late afternoon.  It was so much fun opening it up :-) I'm really excited about playing with all my new framelits that I ordered to go with the new stamps! Really love all the new DSP that I got.

The next card is one that was done at a Hostess Club gathering.  We used the Indescribable Gift stamp set which was in the Occasions catalog.  We also used stamps from Kinda Eclectic which is in the new catalog.
The image was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then I took Early Espresso, Old Olive, and Calypso Coral markers and shaded the leaves and flowers.  Then went over with a sponge dauber to make some of the flowers be more vibrant.  I wanted the ink to go outside of the flowers.  When the coloring was through I used Crushed Curry and stamped the sun over the flowers.  For You is stamped using Calypso Coral ink.

The base card is Calypso Coral and the image is stamped on Whisper White.

Hope you enjoy!  Until next time,
Big HUGS,
Penny

Making sure I post this before I start my class today. :-)  Did not get all my new stamps in time for this class, but using all the new in-colors on some of the stamp sets that were carried over from he last catalog that I hadn't used yet.

Enjoy the card today.  Everyone had fun making it :-)

The last one in this series of 4 birthday cards was using The Best Day Ever stamp set from Sale-A-Bration this year.
The colors were Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry,  and Whisper White.  This was a simple card to make.  It only used the one stamp set.

Punched out the heart with small heart punch and used ribbon from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack.

Till tomorrow, where you will see one of the Hostess Club cards we made.

Hugs,
Penny

Good Morning,

Wanted to get this posted before I got to engrossed in my card making for my upcoming classes today and forgot to post.

Another card in the birthday series.

This one was done using the Starburst framelits and Balloon Bash stamp sets.  They were found in the Occasions catalog but not carried over to the new catalog.  We again used Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral inks.
I used the sprinkles from the stamp set for the background, but I think the sprinkles from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set in the new catalog would work.  The starburst cutout was edged in Calypso Coral ink after the saying was done using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The word celebrate was colored in using Crushed Curry marker.  I just love how the inks, markers and papers all match so well.  That is why I like using SU products because everything coordinates together.
Here is a side view of the card.
Used silver glitter paper for the stars and the star framelit to cut it out with.  The starburst cutout is put on the card using dimensionals.

Check back tomorrow for another card.

Hugs,
Penny

 Good Morning,

Wanted to get this posted before I left to go get ready for my Audience of 1 set I lead every Tuesday.   Enjoy today's card.

2nd card in the birthday card series.

This was done using the birthday stamp set Celebrate Today and the Balloon Framellits. Both of these are in the new catalog and in a bundle, where you can save 15% when you buy the bundle.  We also used the washi tape sheets to cut the balloons out of which were not carried over into the new catalog.
The ink colors used were Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry.  The cardstock used was Whisper White, and Calypso Coral.

Hope you enjoyed this one.

Till tomorrow,
Hugs,
Penny

It is official!  I am now a "Rising Star" with Stampin Up!!

A big thank you to everyone who helped me to reach this goal :-)  You all mean the world to me!!

I have set my next goal to keep up better with my Blog here, on SU I also have a Blog I just realized, and Penny's Pazazzers on Facebook.

So here is my first entry for the week.

I'm going to start showing some of the cards we have made in our classes.  Some of these will be put in the card buffet for you to make if you weren't able to make the original class.

Speaking of classes, I have a couple that are still coming up in the month of June.  I have a new product card class that will get you using some of the new products from the 2015-2016 catalog.  If you haven't gotten a new catalog yet, please let me know so I can get you one.

Class is:
Thursday June 11th - 11 - 2
Saturday June 13th - 1-4
There are still spots still open in each class.

Card Buffet: This is where you can make as many cards as you like. The fee is $10.00 for the first 4 cards and then a $1.50 for each card thereafter.  I have changed the fee and guide lines this time around.  Just want to try something different to see how it works.  You must make a minimum of 4 cards.  Dates for this are as follows:

Thursday June 25th 10 - 2
Saturday June 27th 10 -2

Spots are still open in both.

You can let me know by sending an email to pennynelsn@gmail.com.

Now for a card.  I'm going to start with the birthday cards we have made. We started using the flowers from Flower Patch and the Flower Fair Framelits, which were carried over to the new catalog :-)
This was an idea I saw on Pinetrest when I was browsing it during Sale- A -Bration time. It was done using the Irresistably Yours paper.  We took three different stamps and used a different color ink for each. Once we stamped the  image on the paper we took a sponge and moved the color out onto the paper, which by the time we had done all three colors it gave you this blended color look. The ink colors we used were Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, and Strawberry Splash.

The flower was done in Strawberry Splash and then cut out using the matching framelit from Flower Fair framelits. The butterfly was stamped in Crushed Curry ink, and comes from Nature's Perfection stamp set. It was punched out by using the Elegant Butterfly punch.

The saying was from the Flower Patch stamp set and used Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I hope you enjoy making this card.  Again, I'm sorry I can't remember who I got the idea from.  I know I changed the ink colors and a different butterfly to what I like to work with.

Check back tomorrow for another card.

Until then,
Penny (AKA mtnestor)
