When all the hustle and bustle are over, it is time to gather to start the New Year Off correctly :-)   Come join us for a  New Day, New Year, New Stuff Stampin’ Up event at the Hampton Inn on S. Mason and I-10  Sunday, January 3rd from 2-6pm.   You will be seeing new product from the Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs which you can start ordering from.

There will be make-n-takes, retired stamps to buy, a card buffet, door prizes, and snacks to enjoy.

Cost for the event will be $20.00 which will include 2 make-n-takes and a card buffet.   The buffet will include 4 cards and envelopes. If you chose to make more than 4 cards it will cost you $1.50 per card with envelope included.

The  make-n-takes will include cards using new products from the Occasions catalog.

We all like to receive something free, so when you find a retired product you like, and to receive it free, all you do is order something new for the same amount.

If you bring a friend, they get in free to do the make-n-takes, and participate in the Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) but if they do the card buffet it will be $10.00.

I look forward to seeing you on January 3, 2016!!

I'm back and it is the last day of November!  I am continuing with the Autumn card class cards that we made.

I got the idea for this card from one I saw on Dawn Griffith's stamping site,  I used different paper colors than she used. The base of the card uses Early Espresso cs. The other two layers are using Smoky Slate cs.

The top layer was stamped with the Hardwood stamp using Early Espresso ink.  Then using the Leaflets Framelits cut the leaf shape out.  Then using Early Espresso ink, inked around all the  edges of the paper and also the cut out area. On the Very Vanilla piece we stamped the scene using Memento ink that comes from the Happy Scenes stamp set.  Next we sponged Daffadil Delight ink all over the top of the image and then sponged over it with Tangerine Tango ink.  Then using Crumb Cake we sponged the bottom of the scene, We colored in the pumpkins and leaves with Tangerine Tango Stampin Write Marker. Then using the same framelit we cut the leaf out.

The top two layers used Stampin Dimensionals to adhere them to the card.  The colored leaf was put on using snail adhesive to adhere it to the card.  The sentiment was from the Happy Scenes stamp set and was stamped on Very Vanilla paper using Early Espresso ink.   The oval punch was used to punch it out and then Smoky Slate was used for the Scalloped oval punch.  Gold cording was used for the bow.

Hope everyone had a Great Thanksgiving!

I noticed that I hadn't put on the cards that we made in the Autumn class yet.
This first card was layered using Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and Very Vanilla Papers. The stamp set used was Wild About Flowers. Inks used were Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive.  I used a retired colored ribbon Cherry Cobbler seam binding.  I just loved it for the card.

The design was stamped on the Very Vanilla cardstock as well as the sentiment, which comes from the Wetlands stamp set.  I used Cherry Cobbler ink on the sentiment and the flowers.  I used Old Olive ink on the stems and leaves of the flowers. The only part I used Stampin Dimensionals on were the two Old Olive pieces of paper.  The rest I used the snail adhesive to adhere them on to the card. I put the ribbon on beneath the Cherry Cobbler piece before I put it on to the Old Olive piece of paper.

Supplies:
Wild About Flowers - photopolymer -138728
Wetlands - clear - 126697; wood - 126695

Day 1 continued:

The next pictures show Shelli's office.

So here we are in Shelli's office.  Starting on the left moving to the right are  Candy, Steven, Debbie, Penny, Sherri, and Anna.  We are the lucky Rising Stars of 2015!

The next pictures show our table at lunch.
Lovely fresh flowers, but had to be moved because of all of my allergies to the flowers  :-(
These were three dept. heads that joined us for lunch.

Sandwiches and salads.  Next are the desserts.
Finally when we are finished with lunch before the afternoon session we see bags for us to take and use in the afternoon.  All new product that we are all in love with!!  Wish I could share with you, but we all signed a confidentiality paper saying that we would not share before they are officially brought out!  Just know that you are going to love it :-)
Now we are ready to start the afternoon sessions.
Candy table for our breaks :-)
Our own cooler for drinks while we are there.

Around 3 we left to go and get massages or facials.  Just love all the pampering they gave us!  After that we went to restaurant in walking distance where we had a surprise visitor!
She was a very obnoxious witch! I was really embarrassed by her loudness! We all got our pictures taken with her at the end individually and in a group.
We had Shannon and Bonnie join us tonight for dinner.
When she left us, she then went and did the rounds in the restaurant to the other customers so they wouldn't feel left out!!

This was the gift we received tonight at the restaurant.  It was a stamp and block for it to go on!

Haven't decided what kind of a card I'm going to make with it, but I will :-)

Got back to the hotel and found a Gluten free Chocolate Chip cookie waiting for me!

This is the end of our second day, but first official day at the home office!

Till next time,

Hugs,
Penny

November 1st already!  Where has the year gone?  Still don't have a voice and it is getting very FRUSTRATING!!!  Brett asks me a question and then says I can't hear you!  He forgets I'm not supposed to talk :-)

I'm sharing my 2nd day in SLC with you.  They had so much packed in to each day our heads were ready to explode at the end of the day! Our driver met us at 8:45 and took us to the home office. We went on a tour of the facility, met the people who we talk to with our questions.  I think the most fun that day was being able to go on the floor and pick items to send out to customers :-)  We also were able to go into Shelli's office where we were given a personal note she had written each of us  congratulating us on our achievements.  They had a room set up for us where we were able to skype with Brian King who is a former Rising Star!  They even had a place for our drinks during the two days we were there.  Our lunch was set up so nicely down on the bottom floor.  We had different department heads that joined us so we could answer there questions and also it gave us a good chance to share our concerns with them.

The following pictures will show you some of what we did, who we met with, and where we went.
Driving up to the home office.
                                      Boxes of product!
They are repairing the bubble wrap machine here.
                                      Some of the conveyor belts.

The next group of pictures are of the Legacy Room and some of the items you can find in there.

These are Daffadil Delight and Whisper White flowers.
They not only have one wall this color, but also one wall with Pink Pirouette and Blushing bride flowers.

The base of this lamp has all ABC rubber stamps.

I will continue this tomorrow with pictures and happenings.

Till then.
Hugs,
Penny

WOW it is hard to believe that I have been to Stampin' Up home office and I'm back already!  They treated the 6 Rising Stars as royalty!!

I sure was keeping prayers going that Hurricane Patricia wouldn't mess up my plans getting to SLC for the Rising Star Retreat!  Plane left at around noon and we gave ourselves 4 hours to get there. The roads were not anywhere as bad as they had been predicted, so I got there in plenty of time!

Plane ride was very bumpy leaving Houston!  Once we got up over the storm around the panhandle the turbulence wasn't that bad.  Then when we were flying into the Salt Lake City airport the turbulence was back. :-(

When I got to the baggage claim Terri, our driver we had those 4 days, was waiting with my name on a placard.  It was cool seeing it.
Picture taken when I got to my room at the hotel.  The next picture is what was waiting for me as I opened my door into my room.
This next picture was on the desk as I opened my room door. Beautiful floral arrangement and a copy of our itinerary.  Wow what a start to this fun 4 days :-).

We all went to dinner at Donna Griffith's house where we not only had dinner, but did a card swap with staff members, and a cute make-n-take card with new products! Can't share any of the new products that we saw or worked with, but you are going to love them!!

When we got to the hotel, we had the next picture waiting for us to use on our visit there.  It was a beautiful "Aggie" colored briefcase/purse!!  It really matches the Cherry Cobbler colored ribbon :-)
!

Tomorrow, I will be doing day 2 of our visit.

Till then,
Hugs,
Penny

The card today is the last one we did in the last class.
c
We started with Early Espresso as the base card .  Then Crumb Cake is the next layer. Using Cajun Craze we used the Brick Wall embossing folder.  That was layered on top of Crumb Cake cardstock. Next we stamped on Very Vanilla using Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso ink to stamp the leaves with using stamps from Vintage Leaves.  The dots in the background were done with Crumb Cake using Gorgeous Grunge stamp.  Early Espresso satin ribbon was used over the middle of the card.  The saying came from the  stamps set One Big Meaning.  It was punched out using the Washi Label punch.

I have added a Hostess code for the month of September which is 739M64FX.  If you put in an order this month $25.00 - $149.00 be sure and use this code.
